The system operates by being plumbed into the kitchen’s cold water pipe. The water pressure from the mains system forces the water through the MAX filter’s ceramic and carbon rod, effectively removing contaminants. The clean water is then delivered through the cold water pipe and the kitchen tap or faucet.

The Coldstream Undercounter Water Purification System uses a ceramic, carbon rod, and a recyclable PET plastic housing system with 1/2″ BSP threaded brass components. A separate US plumbing kit is available for use in the United States.

In terms of installation, the system comes with standard instructions, which are inserted into the box. The assembly time is estimated to be between 60 to 120 minutes for setup from unboxing. Replacement parts, such as the CF521W ceramic filter, are available, and the system does not require any special equipment for installation.
