Household water filters may remove NMPs if the pore size of the filter is smaller than the NMPs in the drinking water.

While microplastics (MPs) are between 1 μm and 5 mm, nanoplastics are smaller and harder to research, which creates critical gaps in nanoplastics research and their connection to risk assessment.
