Jamie completed her PhD at the University of Virginia in the Civil and Environmental Engineering department. She contributes towards the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goal 6 by improving low-cost household water treatment. Jamie has conducted laboratory and household research studies to see how certain water treatments can remove more bacteria than others. She is also innovating new ways to kill waterborne pathogens while keeping the solution low-cost, simple, and socially acceptable.
