Business Connect’s Headquarter Team includes interns who work in tandem with our staff to maximize the availability of products, providing communities in the developing world with greater access to essential resources while building sound business opportunities that will create more jobs and economic stability.

Through this internship, you will gain real-world experience working with our partners around the world. These are fully remote positions that will allow you to develop your skills and learn from the global team. You will have the flexibility to set your own schedule as well as contribute to projects that you are most passionate about.

Graphic Design Intern

Position Overview and Responsibilities

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Concept, develop and execute a wide variety of assets for digital applications, website needs, marketing and PR initiatives, digital ads, mobile, and social media channels, on-site events, campaigns
  • Support social media, PR outreach, events and engagement with graphic assets
  • Assist marketing team in designing landing pages, updating website assets, creating digital ads etc.
  • Follow and maintain brand identity characteristics, typography, photography, color etc.
  • Attend weekly one-on-one meetings and monthly team meetings

Requirements and Qualifications

  • High school degree and active enrollment in university or community college
  • Must have a heart for international needs and social impact
  • Must be self-reliant, self-driven, and able to work independently
  • Excellent Adobe/Canva design skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Social media native and up to date with design trends

This is an unpaid position for 5-15 hours/week and reports to the Communications Director. College credit may be available for this position.

Content Writer

Position Overview and Responsibilities

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Produce well-researched content for publication online
  • Produce news and informational articles on pre-approved topics
  • Organize writing schedules to complete drafts of content or finished projects within deadlines
  • Use search engine optimization (SEO) strategies in writing to maximize the online visibility of a website in search results
  • Ensure management is informed of the progress of projects
  • Attend weekly one-on-one meetings and monthly team meetings

Requirements and Qualifications

  • High school degree and active enrollment in university or community college
  • Must have a heart for international needs and social impact
  • Must be self-reliant, self-driven, and able to work independently
  • Proficient ability as a writer
  • Superior oral and written communications skills, experience with proofreading and copy editing
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good time management skills, including prioritizing, scheduling, and adapting as necessary

This is an unpaid position for 5-15 hours/week and reports to the Communications Director. College credit may be available for this position.

Social Media Intern

Position Overview and Responsibilities

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Assist with the design and execution of social media campaigns
  • Track social media engagement to identify high-performing ideas and campaigns for scalability
  • Create and distribute content on social media platforms
  • Attend weekly one-on-one meetings and monthly team meetings

Requirements and Qualifications

  • High school degree and active enrollment in university or community college
  • Must have a heart for international needs and social impact
  • Must be self-reliant and self-driven, able to work independently
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Social media native and up to date with trends
  • Preferred: graphic design experience, marketing experience

This is an unpaid position for 5-15 hours/week and reports to the Communications Director. College credit may be available for this position.

International Marketing Intern

Position Overview and Responsibilities

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Research marketing trends and tactics for each area of the world
  • Develop country or region specific marketing strategies to guide international partners
  • Create content that supports the various marketing strategies
  • Collaborate with team to ensure unified communications
  • Attend weekly one-on-one meetings and monthly team meetings

    Public Relations Intern

    Position Overview and Responsibilities

    Your main responsibilities will be:

    • Research community events and public relations opportunities
    • Develop media lists 
    • Track media coverage
    • Support on media pitching – including writing media pitches and press releases, and outreach to reporters.
    • Brainstorming PR-worthy ideas and pitch angles
    • Keeping a pulse on the latest in the industry, including PR trends and what reporters are covering
    • Attend weekly one-on-one meetings and monthly team meetings

      Requirements and Qualifications

      • High school degree and active enrollment in university or community college
      • Must have a heart for international needs and social impact
      • Must be self-reliant, self-driven, and able to work independently
      • Strong oral and written communication skills
      • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
      • Preferred: Marketing or PR experience

      Sales Intern

      Position Overview and Responsibilities

      Your main responsibilities will be:

      • Develop sales presentations, including research and potential sales pitch
      • Participate in the development, improvements, and maintenance of the sales strategy
      • Research potential retail customers
      • Build client relationships that go beyond just the one interaction
      • Attend weekly one-on-one meetings and monthly team meetings

      Requirements and Qualifications

      • High school degree and active enrollment in university or community college
      • Must have a heart for international needs and social impact
      • Must be self-reliant, self-driven, and able to work independently
      • Ability to conduct engaging demos of the products and solicit sales
      • Strong written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal skills
      • Preferred: Sales or Business Development experience

      This is an commission based position for 5-15 hours/week and reports to the Global Director. College credit may be available for this position.

      Research Intern

      Position Overview and Responsibilities

      Your main responsibilities will be:

      • Research in-country/country-specific water needs (including Water and Sanitation Health)
      • Research NGOs and church organizations with a clean water mission
      • Create a system to market our business to above organizations
      • Attend weekly one-on-one meetings and monthly team meetings

      Requirements and Qualifications

      • High school degree and active enrollment in university or community college
      • Must have a heart for international needs and social impact
      • Must be self-reliant, self-driven, and able to work independently
      • Preferred: Business Development experience
