There are 722 Biblical references to water in the Bible. The first mention of water in the Bible is Genesis 1:2 and the last mentioned is found in Revelation 22:17. In between those two books water flows right though the pages of scripture.
In Genesis 1:20 we read of the first mention of life, and this life comes from water, “…let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creatures that has life…”
In John 3:5 Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews is asking questions of Jesus. Jesus says, “Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.”
Water speaks to us of our natural birth. We see the reality of this when a woman is in labor and the baby is about to be born. We wait for the ‘waters to break’ which surround the baby until birth.
Water is used as an example of being spiritually clean (Exodus 30:18) and of service to each other when Jesus instructs his disciples to wash each other’s feet. John 13: 14
Water speaks to us of spiritual and physical life. Genesis 2: 10it talks of the Garden being watered by a river. Exodus 17:6 is where Moses strikes the rock to produce water for his people in the desert. John 4:14 talks about the water that if one drinks it one shall never again thirst.
I want to paraphrase a letter received recently from a pastor in Rwanda who wrote about the impact of clean filtered water.
“In 2010 God performed for us a great miracle. At that time 250 Sawyer water filters were issued to 250 families. The families that received these filters had a great change in their lives; their children no longer suffered from water borne diseases. They now participated fully in project activities, study well and get good results in class. People around the community benefited a lot. They come to seek drinking water from the families that received these filters. A single filter can serve as many as six families around them….in short, the church congregation has grown so big because the community is now free from diseases and buying firewood to boil water to drink is no longer an issue. The time spent on searching for firewood and boiling water is now spent on other activities.”
Sawyer Products represented by Business-Connect internationally now has ten countries where we have inventory and are actively marketing, assembling, and distributing this filter technology. We have four additional countries coming on board as I write this.
The interface of ministry and business has never been more real and impactful to me than right now in our lives. Thank you for your support, for your encouragement, for your prayers in our personal lives. Make sure you enjoy a glass of cool, clean, and safe water.
